Rotorua

Day 2

semi-overcast 80 °F

Today in the morning, we went on a DUCK tour. We got in these old war vehicles and drove around Rotorua. The vehicles were half car and half boat, so we also got to drive into two lakes! In the afternoon, we went to a sheep show. We learned about all of the different types of sheep and what their wool is used for. We also got to see a sheep be sheared! In the evening we went to see a Maori dinner and dance performance. Maoris' are native New Zealand people. There are still some Maori camps left in New Zealand where the Maoris' live. At the dance performance, we got to watch the Maori men do the Huka which is a war dance. Some men got up to try it too including Dad! The women got to try a peace march which was harder than it looks! I tried it! The dinner was a fabulous buffet with roasted vegetables, soup, meat, and of course, dessert! We had a great fun-packed day in Rotorua!
