Day 2

sunny 75 °F

Today we went to the part of the city called RE: BUILD. It is a destroyed part of the city that was rebuilt out of shipping containers. It has a container shopping mall and an arcade and lots of people on the street singing and dancing for money. It was very sad realizing that the part of the city that is now containers used to be skyscrapers and houses. Over 100 people died in the quake and in turn the people put 100 white chairs in an old parking lot. The people who died each have a chair dedicated to them, and their friends and family can come and sit in the chair and pray whenever they like. In the afternoon, I went indoor rock-climbing. Whilst I was rock-climbing, there was a minor 3.8 quake! it wasn't too bad though, and mom, dad and I are all safe.
We are having a problem with the photos uploading onto the entries. Please check out our photo gallery for recent photos.
