Ayers Rock

Day 2

sunny 98 °F

Today, we spent all day at the pool again. In the late afternoon, we rode camels to our outdoor dinner next to Ayers Rock, called the Sounds of Silence dinner. It was an outdoor buffet dinner, with a starguide to teach us about the stars afterward.

Ayers Rock

Day 1

sunny 100 °F

Today we spent time at the pool. It was SO hot, there was not much else we could do. At sunset, we took a motorcycle ride on Harley's out to the other famous rock formation, The Olgas, or as the locals call it, Kata Tjuta. We took a walk around Kata Tjuta and rode the Harley's back to the hotel. We then took a bus to another lodge called the Outback Pioneer Lodge, and had dinner at the Outback Pioneer barbecue. We cooked our own meat and vegetables on grills outside. It was cool!

Cradle Mountain back to Sydney

semi-overcast 69 °F

Today we drove to Hobart to catch our flight to Sydney. On the way we stopped at the Labradoodle breeding center where Stormy is from in Perth, Tasmania.
We looked at all the puppies and dogs and the kitchen where they are fed. The people who own it, Liz and Paul, were very nice and gave us a tour of the place. If you're ever in Tasmania, stop by. It is great.
